Our Story
How I discovered PEMF
In December of 2018, I scheduled a doctor to discuss pain I was experiencing in my left shoulder. After I had carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand 6 months earlier, I used my left hand and arm to compensate for my right one, leading to left shoulder strain. The pain became agonizing when I performed simple tasks, like reaching into the back seat of the car or reaching my arm over my head for something. Frustrated, I spoke with my primary care doctor about the pain and she recommended physical therapy.
I was introduced to the PEMF therapy by one of my employees in January of 2019. Our patients fighting pancreatic cancer have been using PEMF therapy to help with the side of effects of chemotherapy treatment. We ended up seeing positive results with this form of therapy, so in February of 2019 I scheduled an appointment for a PEMF treatment while on a work trip to Seattle, WA.
After one treatment, I was so impressed that I ended up scheduling another appointment the next day. At the second appointment we concentrated on my shoulder and I could feel the machine pinpoint the issue. Within about 2 weeks I had full motion and zero pain in my shoulder. After doing some research on PEMF therapy, we found out that this type of treatment for chronic pain was not currently available in Rapid City, SD. We are firm believers in the relief PEMF therapy can bring to those suffering from pain and are excited to bring this option to our area.
